NGK Performance Iridium Spark Plug Set

Performance NGK Iridium Spark Plug (Set of 4) for standard and modified vehicles.

These plugs are supplied in various heat ranges and are suitable for all Renault Sports. We have provided a guide below.

When a spark plug is referred to as a “cold plug”, it is one that transfers heat rapidly from the firing tip into the engine head, keeping the firing tip cooler. Keeping the firing tip cooler helps prevent detonation.

Available in 3 heat ranges 6, 7 or 8. The higher the number the colder the plug. A colder plug can tend to foul easily on a car that is used for short periods or commuting. As a rough guide we suggest the below:-

6 Heat Range - Suitable for Standard Clio 2 RS (172/182). For Turbo and Supercharged Cars use the 7 Heat Range.

7 Heat Range - Suitable for Standard and Modified Clio 3 RS (197/200), Megane 2 RS (225/230) and Megane 3 (250/265/275). Ideal for cars up to 320 BHP, if over this level for track use then you may wish to use an 8 Heat Range.

8 Heat Range - Engines over 350 BHP and used mostly on track.

Spark Plug Gap Guide

Gaps should always be checked before fitment, plus different applications may need a reduced gap. As a starting point we have put a guide below.

Upto 200 BHP - 0.90mm
200 - 250 BHP - 0.80mm
250 - 300 BHP - 0.70mm
300 - 350 BHP - 0.65mm
350 - 400 BHP - 0.60mm
400 - 450 BHP - 0.55mm

Pre-Gapped Options
You will note in the drop down options that the various heat ranges are also suffixed with "Pre-Gapped". Select this if you wish us to gap the plugs before shipping out. Either leave a note of the desired gap, contact us after ordering or failing that we will contact you to confirm.

Q) My car is relatively standard, but I do track days. Is there an advantage in fitting this Spark Plug Set?
A) In short no. Although some heat ratings are suitable for standard cars, you will not see any benefit in performance over a good stock set of plugs. That said the sets are keenly priced and in most instances better value and specification than the OEM factory plug.
