We have teamed up with Piper Cams once more to produce our own custom set of camshafts for the Megane 2 RS. Although they can be used with a tuned standard engine and turbo setup, they become more alive when the engine is fitted with a larger turbo charger which can aid top end breathing. They have good road manors when the ECU is tuned to suit, so perfect for both Fast Road and Track use.
These are brand new steel billet camshaft pair and work with OEM valvetrain i.e. hydraulic lifters and followers. Depending on boost level in the upper rpm areas we would also recommend improved valve springs to help prevent valve float. Speak with us if unsure.
Q) Do they require special timing tools?
A) No, we have designed the camshafts so optimum timing is achieved using standard timing settings (Tools). This alone makes installation a lot easier!
Q) What gains can i expect to see?
A) To make the most of these cams you want all supporting modifications such as Intake, Exhaust, Intercooler and ideally an improved Turbo Charger as mentioned. We have seen peak gains of 30-40 BHP at the same boost on some engines when fitted with G25-550 / 660 Garrett turbo chargers.
Q) Do they work with a stock factory ECU?
A) Yes, they have been designed to maximise tuning on a stock ECU or stand alone ECU. Either way the ECU will need to be tuned to suit.
